J.D. Admissions JurisPath — No-Test-Required Admissions Application

  • Law Dawg Pathway (Â鶹ÉçÇø students and alumni)
    • Please join us for a Law Dawg Pathway Information Session on July 21, at 5 p.m.
  • Law & Leadership Pathway (students from non-Â鶹ÉçÇø colleges)

The primary goal of the University of Â鶹ÉçÇø of Law (Â鶹ÉçÇø Law) admissions process is to enroll students who demonstrate outstanding academic and professional promise and whose background and experience will enrich the learning environment of the law school. We invite applicants whose first-choice law school is Â鶹ÉçÇø Law, to consider applying through the JurisPath application.

Applicants from the University of Washington (Law Dawg Pathways) and other undergraduate institutions (Law & Leadership Pathway) may apply through the same application. Eligibility and application requirements are the same regardless of your undergraduate institution; however, Â鶹ÉçÇø graduates admitted through Law Dawg Pathways will be awarded a Garvey Scholarship. Applicants admitted through the Law and Leadership Pathway will be considered for scholarships through our normal scholarship process.

Pathway Description

Applicants to Â鶹ÉçÇø Law may be eligible for admission to the School of Law through additional admission pathways authorized by Standard 503 of the American Bar Association. Â鶹ÉçÇø Law has been granted a variance to Standard 503 which permits admission of certain applicants under the specific conditions described below.

JurisPath is a binding decision program, similar to Early Decision, designed for those applicants who have carefully considered their law school options and are confident that Â鶹ÉçÇø Law is their clear first choice. JurisPath applicants are not required to submit an LSAT score. Applicants who have taken the LSAT will not have their score factored into review.

Applicants who know Â鶹ÉçÇø Law is their first choice, but who miss the deadline for JurisPath, are otherwise ineligible, or would like their LSAT test score included in the review process, are encouraged to apply through Early Decision.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants who do not have a valid, reportable, LSAT score are eligible to apply without a score. Applicants who have a valid, reportable LSAT score on file will have their score redacted during the review process.
  • All requirements, except the requirement of an LSAT score, to apply through the Regular Decision Pathway must be met.
  • Bachelor’s degree dates:
    • Law Dawg Pathway: Priority consideration will be given to graduates whose undergraduate degree was conferred between Sept. 22, 2021, and Sept. 22, 2026.
    • Law & Leadership Pathway: Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student who will receive their bachelor’s degree between Sept. 22, 2025, and Sept. 22, 2026. Applicants graduating before Sept. 22, 2025, are not eligible to apply through this option and are encouraged to explore Early Decision.
  • Priority consideration will be given to applicants meeting or exceeding the previous year’s GPA median, subject to the holistic review process and consideration of the applicant’s character and fitness.

In addition to academic honors, recognition and achievements, when considering JurisPath applicants, the admissions committee weighs several key factors:

  • Leadership skills: Leadership roles in academic, professional, or community settings show your capacity to inspire, guide and take initiative, which are crucial qualities for future legal professionals.
  • Work history: Professional experience, whether full-time or part-time, offers insight into your practical skills, time management abilities and understanding of workplace dynamics.
  • Campus and community engagement: Active participation in student organizations, clubs, or initiatives that impact the broader community indicates your ability to contribute positively to the law school community.
  • Commitment to community and public service: A demonstrated passion for community and public service reflects a dedication to improving society and aligns with Â鶹ÉçÇø Law’s core values of social responsibility, advancing access and inclusivity, and making a meaningful difference in the public sector.
  • Grit, resilience and overcoming adversity: Facing and overcoming significant obstacles — whether academic, financial, personal, or societal — highlights your strength, adaptability and drive. Such experiences build character and contribute to your perspective, enhancing your ability to navigate complex legal issues and relate to diverse clients.
  • Military service: Experience in the military demonstrates discipline, resilience and a strong sense of duty. It reflects leadership under pressure and a commitment to service, traits highly valued in the legal field.
  • Foreign language proficiency: Proficiency in one or more languages showcases cultural awareness and communication skills, which are increasingly important in a globalized legal landscape. It also suggests adaptability and intellectual versatility.
  • Non-LSAT standardized test scores: Applicants are permitted to submit test scores from other standardized tests (ex. GRE, ACT, SAT) as addendums to their application to further demonstrate academic ability.

How to Apply

  • Register with LSAC and submit your complete JurisPath application by Sept. 15, 2025. Only complete applications will be considered. Do not apply under the Regular Decision application for JurisPath.
  • Submit a Personal Statement and a Supplemental Statement with your application.
  • All applicants are invited to submit an optional statement explaining why they chose to apply through JurisPath and provide additional context about their qualifications. This optional statement should be 250 words or less and uploaded as an addendum to the application.
  • Three Letters of Recommendation are required to apply through JurisPath.
    • Applicants who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree must include at least one letter from a faculty member or other individual qualified to evaluate their academic abilities.
  • Â鶹ÉçÇø Law may request interviews with JurisPath applicants before a decision is released.
  • Applications under this path will be reviewed, and decisions released, on a rolling basis. The Office of Admissions strives to release all JurisPath decisions by Oct. 5, 2025; however, a decision by this date is not guaranteed. All JurisPath applicants are guaranteed to receive a decision by Jan. 10, 2025.
  • Applicants who are not admitted through the JurisPath process:
    • Applicants without an LSAT will have their application switched to the Regular Decision pool and be required to take the LSAT before their application is reviewed again and a final decision is released.
    • Applicants with an LSAT score will have their application switched to the Early Decision pool and their score will be unredacted for review.
